The unit was formed in 1998 to do the first of the Culloden events. There was only a handful of us involved and we decided to portray the MacLachlan Clan Regiment, a small unit of 250 or so who fought with Prince Charlie during the 1745 Rebellion. Since then the unit has grown from about 12 to over 60.
The Jacobite events are few and pretty far afield so in 2000 we debuted our next historical unit, the US 25th Infantry Regiment (1814) for the War of 1812 genre, one that takes place closer to home with many of the battles in southern Ontario. This has helped with our local profile and we are called upon to support many Canadian events, often being the largest unit of US regular forces represented.
In 2005, we acquired a 27 ft whaleboat and have since done naval re-enacting as well, the last one a Privateer raid in PEI.
Being versatile, we have done events in many states and provinces in eastern North America since our inception in 1998.
